Sound story
Hello, and welcome back to Jacquelle's blog! We got a project this week where we were to build a story using just artificial noises. The most difficult component of the story, in my opinion, was reducing the background noise. Adobe Audition was the program I used to remove the background noise. I wasn't aware of the processes utilized to eliminate or boost sound because it was my first time using this application. As a result, it took some time, but the finished product sounded fantastic. A simple summary of what is happening in my story is that, as you can hear in the beginning, the bell rings, the students walk to their next class, and you can hear kids conversing in the background. I did this to make it sound more natural and like a real classroom. The teacher can be heard erasing and writing on the board while the students talk in the background. This is analogous to the start of class in a traditional classroom. When the teacher starts teaching, she asks one of the students a question to which the student is doubtful of the answer. The student begins to become apprehensive, and the audience can hear the sound of the classmates becoming louder and the ticking of the clock becoming louder. As the student begins to stutter, the teacher begins to call out the student's name in an attempt to get them to answer the question, but the student doesn't respond and the sound of the clock increases, indicating that the student is unable to hear their surroundings and is anxious.
